INEZ, Ky. -- Wallace W. Parsley, 71, of Inez died Thursday at the Highlands Regional Hospital in Prestonsburg. Born Dec. 7, 1911 in West Virgini, he was the son of the late Symore and Anita [Iantha] Parsley. Survivors include his widow, Sylvia Gobel Parsley of Inez; a son, Roy Parsley of Crown Point, Ind.; two daughters, Lucille Preece of Columbus, Ohio and avanell Norton of Baltimore, Md. Additional survivors include a brother, Alonzo Parsley of Texas; a sister, Bessie Evans of Dayton, Ohio and six grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Middle Fork United Baptist Church with the Revs. Arthur and Tom Preece and Jessie Fields officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Memory Gardens at Maher. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Richmond-Callaham Funeral Home at Inez where friends may call after 2 p.m. today.

Six children, a daughter-in-law and a grandson were living at home with them: Joseph, son, 26, born in March 1874; Moses, son, 23, born in Dec 1876; Wallace, son, 21, born in Mar 1879; H. S., son, 28, born in Feb 1872; Intha, daughter-in-law, 16, born in Sept 1883; Sarah, daughter, 19, born in May 1881; Mary, daughter, 14, born in Apr 1886; William, grandson, 14, born in Dec 1885. Intha [Iantha] and H. S. had been married less than one year. She had given birth to 0 children. James A., Elizabeth, and Intha were born in Kentucky. Jas A.'s father was born in VA and his mother was born in Kentucky. Eliabeth's parents were born in Kentucky. All other children were born in West Virginia and their parents were born in Kentucky, except for William's father who was born in WV. Jas A and H. S. were farmers. Joseph, Moses and Wallace were day laborers. Jas A and Elizabeth could not read or write. All other household members could. Mary and William attended school for five months during the year.
